FOREST BATHING
According to scientific research, forest bathing has many health benefits. It reduces the levels of cortisol, which is the stress hormone, reduces blood pressure, the possibility of heart attack, aggression, depression. It improves concentration, memory, mood, skin inflammation and sleep quality and increases energy. It also has a relaxing effect on sore and aching muscles. Finally, phytokines, volatile substances released by the trees, can have antimicrobial action, strengthening the immune system and helping to reduce the incidence of several diseases.Forest bathing is not about any exercise or specific activity in nature, but about connecting all five senses to it.
So, if you want to rejuvenate yourself, get rid of tension, fatigue and stress and do something good for your health, go for a walk in the forest or even in a city park as long as it has trees and is free of noise. Make sure you leave your cell phone behind, but also your camera. Your goal is to connect with nature with all your senses, without having anything to distract you. Listen to the sounds of the forest, smell its fragrance, notice the colors, the sunlight through the leaves, touch the tree trunks, taste the fresh air.
Forest bathing is for everyone. It helps us to disconnect from technology, relax our rhythms and improve our health. Two hours of forest bathing can relax and rejuvenate you for even a month. But the more often you do forest bathing, the more you will become familiar with the technique and see the benefits it has on your mood and health.
